Malaysia’s deputy health minister has pleaded guilty to breaching COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali and 14 others have been fined RM1,000 (US0) each at a court in the northern state of Perak. The fine is the maximum imposed under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations. Pictures of Dr Noor Azmi sharing a meal after visiting a local religious school earlier in April had gone viral. Under the movement control order, any social gathering is banned.
